A field experiment was conducted at the Central Experiment Station Wakawali during Rabi season in Randomized Block Design with two replications to identify the most appropriate chilli genotypes under Konkan conditions. The row and plant spacing was maintained at 60 cm and 45 cm respectively and each plot accommodated 20 plants. A total of 19 genotypes of chilli (Capsicum annum L.) were evaluated for growth parameters, flowering behavior and quality parameters which varied significantly. Further plant height at 30 DAT (days after transplanting) was observed maximum in genotype T2 ‘LCA-206’ (31.20 cm), 60 DAT genotype T3 ‘LCA-334’ (47.40 cm), 90 DAT genotype T18 ‘Karvir Local’ (66.10 cm) and at last harvest stage genotype T3 ‘LCA-334’ (70.20 cm) should maximum plant height. The maximum number of branches per plant at last harvest stage was recorded T1 (Konkan Kirti) genotype. The maximum average plant spread was observed in genotype T19 ‘Pachora Local’ (53.85 cm). In case of flowering behavior, genotypes T3 (LCA-334) and T18 (Karvir Local) were found to be early flowering. These genotypes were also recorded with desirable values for physical fruit parameters like fruit behavior and fruit positions.
