Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum L.) is an important seed spice and medicinal crop whose productivity is often constrained by micronutrient deficiencies, particularly zinc (Zn) and iron (Fe). Balanced application of these essential micronutrients plays a crucial role in improving plant growth, physiological processes, yield, and nutrient uptake. Therefore, the present investigation was conducted to evaluate the effect of different levels of zinc and iron on the growth, chlorophyll content, yield attributes, yield, and nutrient uptake of fenugreek under controlled conditions. The experiment was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) comprising different combinations of zinc and iron with appropriate replications. Standard agronomic and crop management practices were followed throughout the experimental period. Observations were recorded on plant height, number of branches, dry matter accumulation, chlorophyll content, yield attributes, seed and straw yield, and nutrient uptake. The collected data were statistically analysed using analysis of variance (ANOVA). The combined application of zinc and iron significantly improved plant growth, chlorophyll content, yield attributes, seed yield, straw yield, and nutrient uptake over the control. Among the treatments, the combined application of Zn and Fe produced superior crop performance, indicating a synergistic effect of these micronutrients. The improvement in growth and productivity was attributed to enhanced chlorophyll synthesis, increased enzymatic activity, improved photosynthetic efficiency, and better absorption and translocation of essential nutrients. Balanced micronutrient nutrition also resulted in greater nutrient uptake and overall improvement in crop performance. The study demonstrates that integrated application of zinc and iron is an effective micronutrient management strategy for enhancing the growth, productivity, and nutrient uptake of fenugreek. The findings provide useful information for developing sustainable nutrient management practices for fenugreek cultivation in micronutrient-deficient soils. Future field-based investigations across diverse agro-climatic regions are recommended to validate the experimental findings under farmers' field conditions.
