Xylanases have multiple uses in industries for obtaining value added products from lignocellulosic biomass. In this study, wheat bran concentration, pH of the medium and incubation temperature were optimized using Rotatable central composite design based Response surface methodology for enhancing the production of endoxylanase from Aspergillus fumigatus SKF-4. In the model that was developed, linear and quadratic effect of all the independent variables and interaction effect of wheat bran concentration and the medium pH were significant. Model predicted optimized conditions as wheat bran- 2.5 (%w/v), pH- 5.7 and temperature- 32°C with endoxylanase production as 60.3 IU/ml. Endoxylanase production under experimental condition was 60.8 IU/ml which was at par with the predicted value. Under optimized conditions endoxylanase production was 1.5 times more than the unoptimized one. Response surface methodology could help in optimization of process parameters for enhanced production of endoxylanase from Aspergillus fumigatus SKF-4.
