Abstract:

Hundred and ten Advanced Breeding Lines (ABLs) derived from fourteen families of green gram in F6 generation were evaluated in augmented design during summer-2019 for estimation of genetic variability, heritability, genetic advance, correlation and path coefficient analysis for yield and yield attributing traits. High genotypic coefficient of variation and phenotypic coefficient of variation were recorded for number of pods per plant and seed yield per plant. High heritability and high genetic advance under mean were recorded for plant height, number of branches per plant, number of pods per cluster, number of pods per plant, hundred seed weight and seed yield per plant. The characters, number of pods per plant and hundred seed weight had highest positive direct effect and also had high positive correlation on seed yield. Thus these are the most important and reliable characters which can be utilized in direct selection for improving the seed yield.
