Management of Traumatic Prolapsed Uterus in a Crossbred Cow

Abstract:

A case of traumatic prolapsed uterus in a crossbred cow was handled in field condition with a history of normal calving followed by complete expulsion of the uterus at the time of expulsion of foetal membranes, four hours post delivery. The prolapsed mass was cleaned, tears sutured, lubricated, reduced and repositioned successfully by manual method and retained by Buhner’s suture under epidural anesthesia. There was complete recovery of the animal after 3 days.
