Hydroponic experiment was conducted to observe the effects of Zn on the growth, biophysical parameters and zinc content in shoot and root of rice genotypes. The experiment was comprised of 20 genotypes and two treatments viz., T1: 0.01 µM (Zn-deficient); T2: 2.0 µM (Zn-sufficient/control), laid out in factorial randomized block design with three replications. Results showed 2.0 µM concentration of zinc sulphate significanty incresead the Plant height (22.0 cm), leaf area (31.3 cm2 plant-1), shoot dry matter (0.92 g plant-1), root length (11.4 cm), root dry weight (0.44 g) and biophysical parameters viz., Photosynthetic rate (5.90 mmol CO2 m-2 s-1), stomatal conductance (0.045 mmol m-2 s-1) and transpiration rate (0.86 mmol H2O m-2 s-1) and zinc content (ppm) in shoot and root, were measured on 4-week old Seedlings.
