Abstract:

Chilli (Capsicum annum) is one of the important spices and cultivated around the world for its peculiar hot taste. It is Originated in the tropical America. It is also called as hot pepper, sweet pepper, bell pepper, etc. If some varieties of chillies are famous for its, red color because of the pigment ‘capsanthin,’ others are known for baiting pungency attributed to ‘capsaicin’. Trichoderma harzianum and Alternaria alternata were isolated from the soil collected from agricultural farm of SHIATS, Naini, Allahabad. Serial dilution method was used to isolate the Trichoderma harzianum and Alternaria alternate. The seeds were inoculated with liquid fungal biofungicides with various treatments in 1% ratio. After sowing 30, 60 and 90 days of plant growth the highest morphological and yield parameters results were recorded as seed germination 89.93%, plant height 26.43 (cm), 35.87 (cm) and 48.69 (cm), shoot length per plant 21.37 (cm), 25.96 (cm) and 35.96 (cm), leaves per/plant 15.91, 21.32 and 35.96, flowers per plant (8.56), yield per plant 12.50 (gm/plant) of Chilli. It concludes that the Trichoderma harzianum liquid fungal bio-fungicide would be suitable for control of Alternaria alternata that would be increase the growth and yield in chilli, which enhance the production and productivity to farmers.
