Advancement in Microbial research in biological science and technology has contributed to remarkable increase in food production, health management and environment conservation since the mid-twentieth century. The aim of this conference is to call for measures that can reduce or eliminate hazardous factors associated with environment including air, water and soil. Scientific discoveries, new tools and improved technologies have rapidly expanded in the field of environmental health. At the same time more food is desperately needed from less and often low productivity environments, as arable land and important resources like fertilizer and water are shrinking constantly. Anthropological and climate change related factors further limit the suitability of agricultural, horticulture, aquaculture and other resources of environment. One of the ways of ensuring high production is by reducing the losses due to diseases at pre and post-harvest stages of the production system. Sound knowledge on the pathogenic as well as beneficial microbes and their interaction with plants and animals as well with the environment is key to understand and combat plant, animal and human diseases. The potential applications of biomaterial and biomolecules derived from microbes and plants in agriculture, aquaculture and medicine seem boundless. But progress will require advances in basic understanding of plant-microbe interactions with environment coupled to practical attention to the process of translating the discoveries from the lab to land and hand. By considering this objective, the Department of Botany and Microbiology is organizing a seminar to introduce the Molecular modular technology in the fields of Plant sciences, Microbiology, Animal sciences, Nanotechnology, Biomaterials, Biocontrol agents Biochemistry and Biotechnology for environment conservation. The conference theme is aptly titled as “Plant- microbe interaction, Environmental conservation –challenges and strategies” in order to emphasize the need for protecting the plants, animals and human from pathogens to achieve global food and livelihood security. The conference will be focused to introduce students the field of research and researchers to develop futuristic research trends in relevance to India. By
