Abstract:

In recent years, the feed cost of the poultry has increased and the farmers and feed mill owners are in constant search of alternate protein source to reduce the feed cost. Distillers Dried Grains with Solubles (DDGS) has always been an alternative feed ingredient. It can be used as an alternate protein source as it is has a crude protein of around 40 – 45 % and gross energy of around 3800 – 4200 kcal/ kg can be used in commercial broiler chicken ration. The mycotoxins if present in the parent grain while production will appear in the end product. The low lysine content and digestibility can be a hurdle in using the RDDGS as an feed ingredient.
