Study on Mortality Pattern of Ramnad White Sheep Under farming Conditions

Abstract:

Mortality pattern in Ramnad White Sheep was studied for the period from 2014-15 to 2018-19. The mortality rate was 9.75% in young stock and 1.54% in adult. Among the systemic causes diseases of the respiratory system disorders affects (48.71%) in young stock and 50% in Adult stock followed by general systemic disease 12.80% in young stock whereas alimentary system affects the 20% in adult 10.25% in young stock.  The mortality rate was higher during north-east monsoon (38.251%) followed by winter (57.14%),  Summer ( 17.616 % ) and south-west monsoon (8.88 %)
