Abstract:

Field investigation carried out to evaluate performance of newer insecticidal treatments on natural enemies and yield contributing factors in sorghum at sorghum research farm, Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri during rabi season of 2013-14. The observation recorded after two spray revealed that significant differences among all treatments. The result on natural enemies revealed that the seed treatment of imidacloprid 48 % FS 10ml/kg and spray of azadirachtin 3000 ppm were less toxic and most safer treatment to predatory Coccinellids and Crossopalpus sp. population. Secondly the result on yield, plant height and their economics reveled that imidacloprid 48% FS at 10 ml/kg seed followed by spray of quinalphos 25% EC at 2 ml/l proved the most effective treatment

Keywords: Newer insecticides, Imidacloprid, Quinalphos, Thiomethoxam, Fipronil.
